Research Interests & Fields of Study

Lorraine Denman's research interests include content-based instructional approaches and other non-traditional pedagogical approaches in the foreign language classroom. She is currently working on creating open source digital resources and tools for the students in the Italian language program. Her current research project focuses on written corrective feedback in Italian classes at all levels. In addition to foreign language pedagogy and second language acquisition, Lorraine is also interested in Italian foodways and food studies, the culmination of which is an English-taught course called "Food for Thought: Italian Food Culture" that she offers every fall semester.
