Lucas holds a Bachelor’s degree in French (with minors in education and psychology) from Allegheny College, and a Master’s degree in French and Pedagogy from the University of Cincinnati. He has had opportunities to teach French, English, and core subjects at a variety of levels: university, secondary, and primary. He has also tutored English Language Learners of all ages and levels. Additionally, he has enjoyed working as a (ghost)writer and editor from time to time.
His academic interests include francophone film and media studies and transnational and queer identities of the Maghreb and Québec. He also hopes to keep learning Arabic as his third language and find opportunities to practice in Arabic speech communities.
